I’ve shot plenty of engagement sessions but when Jon called me up about 2 months ago to plan a surprise engagement session for his then girlfriend Kaytie, I almost fell out of my seat in excitement.  Kaytie has been my hairdresser for several years now.  I have also shot Jon and her a few times for their yearly Christmas card, so I’ve definitely grown to love them dearly over the years.  So, Jon and I schemed a “portfolio shoot” that included their dog Bruno which Kaytie thought was a special red carpet promotion in June.  Apparently Jon and I are good liars because she totally bought it.

We showed up on an overcast evening at the gorgeous Defries Gardens in New Paris.  The plan was 3rd pose I’ll get her to turn her back for an invite then Jon would whip out that awesome rock.  Don’t know what an invite is?  Guess you’ll have to book a session with me to find out ;-).  As she turned around you could tell she didn’t know what to do.  I think she thought we were playing a joke on her.  Jon, down on one knee poured out his love for his gorgeous girl and thankfully she said yes.  Look how handsome that guy is, would you say no?  We celebrated with some champagne while the moment set in.  I, of course in true photog style, had to document.

I absolutely can not wait till these two tie the knot.  Too bad I don’t shoot weddings because I have no doubt it will be GORGEOUS but I’ll get to celebrate alongside these adorable love birds.  I’ll be sure to grab some iPhone snap shots to share.  I know I don’t usually share this many photos but seriously how could I choose.  These two are HOT!
